Poem of the Week!
What's up world it's me again on this beautiful Thursday.
It's time for spoken word, so get you incense and start snapping. I chose this song/poem by John Lennon because people lose sight of what's important. We are so busy looking at the cliff we lose sight of the view.
Imagine
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
By John Lennon"A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality." ~ John Lennon

Emotions
Hidey- Ho familia es tu hijo Molo.
Happy Thursday y'all it's Spoken Word day. Today I am writing about emotions in poetry. Emotion runs the world, whether happy, sad, mad, or alone you act according to how you feel. The best way to express yourself is through writing down or even saying it aloud. So here are some poets that exude emotion in it's rawest form.
My Soul is Dark
My soul is dark - Oh! quickly string
The harp I yet can brook to hear;
And let thy gentle fingers fling
Its melting murmurs o'er mine ear.
If in this heart a hope be dear,
That sound shall charm it forth again:
If in these eyes there lurk a tear,
'Twill flow, and cease to burn my brain.
But bid the strain be wild and deep,
Nor let thy notes of joy be first:
I tell thee, minstrel, I must weep,
Or else this heavy heart will burst;
For it hath been by sorrow nursed,
And ached in sleepless silence, long;
And now 'tis doomed to know the worst,
And break at once - or yield to song.
by Lord Byron
100%
You accuse me of the worse
stating I know nothing of my race.
Why? Cause I'm fluent in the
language of eloquence
and my spoken words
are said without ignorance
but instead, with logic
Oh, long lost relative.
who lacks sufficient education
Tell me how you define being
Black or perhaps Puertorican
When you consider noise that
degrades our people--music.
Music that favors gangsters
with their guns, and drug dealers
who have ruined the lives for all
your loved ones or hell maybe even
yours.
And I assume I must know
Espanol--in order to be latino
And displaying the flag,
from head to toe,
keeps me loyal to my people.
Well, I dont think so.
You may call me
A mutt.
So I'll bark at your ignorance.
You can't possibly split me
down the middle, or divide me into
percentages of different culture.
Its impossible, irrational, not logical
All i need to tell you is
I know my race
I know my race
and I love my race-s
Because I love being who I am
and that's 100 percent Black
yet 100 percent Puertorican

Fuck
Fuck this
Fuck you
Fuck everything
And all the shit you put me through
Fuck the world
Fuck the pain
Fuck everything you stand for
Because I don't give a fuck about the fame
Fuck your insecurities
Fuck your smug smile
Fuck your happiness that I promised
So just fuck off unless you have something worthwhile
Fuck the future
Fuck the past
Fuck all your fucking ignoranc
Because this torture will always last
Fuck this needless pain
Fuck this knife that roams
Fuck everything that you're thinking
Because this is a cutting reference in my poem
Fuck what you're thinking
Fuck everything you've said
Fuck the world of knowledge you have of me
Because I know none of the thoughts in my head
Fuck my anger
Fuck my pain
And you know what just fuck me
Because I'm just small, stupid and insane
Fuck everything I just said
Fuck all the times I've come to your aid
Fuck all the tears I helped you fight
Because I'm just pathetic, alone and afraid
Fuck my life
Fuck staying sober
Fuck my pain
Because it's all fucking over
Fuck me
Fuck you
Fuck everyone else who thinks they're so great
Thinking we're all so much better than the next person too

Sex Goddess
I am THE SEX GODDESS OF THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE
so don't mess with me
I've got a big bag full of SEX TOYS
and you can't have any
'cause they're all mine
'cause I'm
the SEX GODDESS OF THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE.
"Hey," you may say to yourself,
"who the hell's she tryin' to kid,
she's no sex goddess,"
But trust me,
I am
if only for the fact that I have
the unabashed gall
to call
myself a SEX GODDESS,
I mean, after all,
it's what so many of us have at some point thought,
we've all had someone
who worshipped our filthy socks
and barked like a dog when we were near
giving us cause
to pause and think: You know, I may not look like much
but deep inside, I am a SEX GODDESS.
Only
we'd never come out and admit it publicly
well, you wouldn't admit it publicly
but I will
because I am
THE SEX GODDESS OF THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE.
I haven't always been
a SEX GODDESS
I used to be just a mere mortal woman
but I grew tired of sexuality being repressed
then manifest
in late night 900 number ads
where 3 bodacious bimbettes
heave cleavage into the camera's winking lens and sigh:
"Big Girls oooh, Bad Girls oooh, Blonde Girls oooh,
you know what to do, call 1-900-UNMITIGATED BIMBO ooooh."
Yeah
I got fed up with the oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh
I got fed up with it all
so I put on my combat boots
and hit the road with my bag full of SEX TOYS
that were a vital part of my SEX GODDESS image
even though I would never actually use
my SEX TOYS
'cause my being a SEX GODDESS
it isn't a SEXUAL thing
it's a POLITICAL thing
I don't actually have SEX, no
I'm too busy taking care of
important SEX GODDESS BUSINESS,
yeah,
I gotta go on The Charlie Rose Show
and MTV and become a parody
of myself and make
buckets full of money off my own inane brand
of self-righteous POP PSYCHOLOGY
because my pain is different
because I am a SEX GODDESS
and when I talk,
people listen
why ?
Because, you guessed it,
I AM THE SEX GODDESS OF THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE
and you're not.

Def Poetry Jam Poets
As you can see it can be therapeutic to release your emotion. So with all that emotion you have built up inside of you let it out. You only hurting yourself by not letting it out. I live by a simple motto, "You aint happy, until you are happy". So live happy and the rest will take care itself.

Snap Snap Snap
Hidey-Ho world, it's me again Happy Friday to all.
I don' know about y'all but nothing calms my soul like some good poetry. I mean some real good poetry, like masterful word play and similies.
I know what you are thinking "Molo why you got poems on a music site?" Well music aint nothing but poems to an instrumental. Even the bible has songs in it, The Psalms are poetry put to music do your research if you dont believe me. It doesn't matter what kind it is old poems, new poems, haikus, or Sonnets. Here are some to take into your weekend enjoy!
Where the Sidewalk Ends
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
by Shel Silverstein
I Carry Your Heart With Me
I carry your heart with me(I carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Shakespeare's Sonnet 111
O for my sake do you with Fortune chide,
The guilty goddess of my harmful deeds,
That did not better for my life provide,
Than public means which public manners breeds.
Thence comes it that my name receives a brand,
And almost thence my nature is subdued
To what it works in, like the dyer's hand:
Pity me then, and wish I were renewed,
Whilst like a willing patient I will drink,
Potions of eisel 'gainst my strong infection,
No bitterness that I will bitter think,
Nor double penance to correct correction.
Pity me then dear friend, and I assure ye,
Even that your pity is enough to cure me.
I Guess
I don't know anymore. Ask alot of people what they fear, see what they say. Most people say death or God. I can understand that. But for me i have alittle more deeper fears. I fear love, I fear that person that can bring me to tears. I fear the emotion that can make a man kill. I fear the feeling between just being friends and making it real. I fear life, I fear the pain life brings. I fear ignorance, I fear people not knowing what it sounds like to hear a caged bird sing. I fear people who don't know the patience of Dr. King or not knowing what it means to be free at last. I fear people who don't know the strength of Malcolm or not know the knowledge of El Hajj Malik Shabazz. I fear a lot of things in this world. I fear of talking and only hearing a revoice, I fear of being sad all the time with no chance to rejoice. I'm afraid of being alone at thirty, but what I fear the most is ME.
